Jaclene Begley
Board Member 2023-2025

Jaclene Begley is a senior economist and research director in the Economic & Strategic Research group at Fannie Mae, leading a team focused on academic research that supports the company’s housing affordability-related initiatives. Her research focuses on homeownership, real estate finance, and the housing decisions of older adults, and has been covered in the New York Times, the Philadelphia Inquirer, and the Wall Street Journal. Dr. Begley is also a non-resident senior fellow at GWU’s Center for Washington Area Studies and a research affiliate with the NYU Furman Center for Real Estate and Urban Policy. She has been visiting faculty at Harvard University, a visiting scholar at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, and an assistant professor at Toronto Metropolitan University.  Prior to graduate school, she worked as a commercial real estate acquisitions analyst for LaSalle Investment Management and RREEF/ Deutsche Bank.  Dr. Begley received her doctorate in public policy from NYU, a master's degree in city planning from UC Berkeley, and an undergraduate degree in finance from the University of Notre Dame.
