The University of Texas at Austin seeks a strategic and operationally focused Director of Asset Management to oversee its significant and growing real estate portfolio, balancing business acumen with a commitment to academic institutional priorities. Reporting to Dan Allen, Associate Vice President for Finance and Executive Director for Real Estate Planning & Strategy, the new Director of Asset Management will be responsible for driving operational excellence and growth across the University’s growing real estate portfolio, which includes hotel/conference, student-housing, commercial mixed-use, multi-family and innovation spaces. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong financial acumen, exceptional project management skills, and extensive experience in real estate asset management.

The Director of Asset Management will lead UT Austin's real estate portfolio and have a leading role in the design and creation of performance reports and metrics. They will implement performance metrics and financial analysis to maximize value while ensuring regulatory compliance. This role involves developing strategic plans, overseeing property teams, and negotiating favorable lease terms for the university while conducting market research to identify trends and opportunities. Success requires collaboration with university departments, tenants, and community partners, with regular reporting to leadership on portfolio performance.

The Director must have a bachelors degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field and at least seven (7) years of experience in real estate asset management. Experience solving complex asset management issues and implementing improvements is a must. A master’s degree in Real Estate Development, Business, Finance, or equivalent is preferred.
