The NYU Furman Center welcomes applications for a full-time post-doctoral research fellow position. The NYU Furman Center, jointly housed at NYU’s School of Law and its Wagner Graduate School of Public Service, is a leading academic research center devoted to the public policy aspects of land use, real estate development, and housing.
The Fellow’s time is shared equally between independent research on topics of their choice, and Furman Center research projects, conducted jointly with faculty members, graduate students, and staff. Fellowships typically last two years, though they can be one-year positions if preferred. The fellowship will begin in the late summer or early fall of 2025.
Qualifications include a Ph.D. in Economics, or other quantitative social science discipline; experience working with large data sets; strong econometrics skills; strong oral and written communications skills; strong skills in programming for data analysis (such as in R, Stata, or SAS), and the ability to work as part of a team and to meet deadlines. Interest in housing, real estate, or broader urban policy research is also essential.
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $72,000 - $72,000. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
