The Mortgage Market Research Conference

The Mortgage Market Research Conference
May 15–16, 2024  |  Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia

We are pleased to invite you to our upcoming Mortgage Market Research Conference on May 15‒16, 2024.

Mortgages are the largest component of household debt, and the mortgage market influences many aspects of the economy, such as homeownership and wealth accumulation, real estate prices, the structure and risk of the financial sector, and the transmission of monetary policy and macroeconomic shocks.

The Mortgage Market Research Conference is a biennial forum for the presentation and discussion of academic research and policy topics related to mortgages and the mortgage market. The 2024 conference builds on the successful first edition of this conference held in 2022. Day 1 of this year's conference will include two expert panels: The Mortgage Market and the Interest Rate Cycle, and The Policy and Regulatory Environment. Day 1 will conclude with a reception, featuring a poster session highlighting findings from six research papers. Day 2 of the conference will include 10 research paper presentations and six discussions. The hybrid conference will offer both an in-person option at the Philadelphia Fed as well as virtual participation.

The conference is jointly organized by the Philadelphia Fed’s Consumer Finance Institute, the Research Department, and the Supervision, Regulation, and Credit Department.
