The Perella Department of Finance at Lehigh University invites applications for a one-year full-time visiting assistant professor position to start in the Fall 2024 academic semester, with the possibility of a one-year renewal.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a PhD with a specialization in Real Estate, Finance, or closely related discipline from an accredited university. Candidates may also be ABD (e.g., have completed all coursework towards a doctoral degree and be admitted to candidacy). Candidates must demonstrate the potential to conduct high quality research that is publishable in top-tier real estate and/or finance academic journals.

Position

This is a fixed-term, non-tenure track, full-time position. The position requires teaching a 6-credit load per academic semester in the Fall and Spring semesters, respectively. Teaching will be in the area of real estate. The successful candidate is also expected to actively engage in research, including participation in departmental seminars and workshops, in addition to other activities supportive of the Goodman Center for Real Estate and the Finance Department, and their missions and goals, as assigned by the chair of the department.

College and Department

The College of Business has approximately 1,200 undergraduates, 450 graduate students, and 80 full-time faculty members. The undergraduate finance major at Lehigh University is the largest undergraduate major in terms of graduates produced each year. A significant number of our undergraduates proceed to careers on Wall Street and have succeeded very well there. We have a strong presence on Wall Street and this is complemented by our alumni group, the Lehigh University Wall Street Council. The department also participates in the MBA program as well as our MS in Financial Engineering Program jointly offered with the Mathematics, and Industrial Engineering Departments.
