Full-time Lecturer in Finance/Real Estate - Clemson University

Position Description

The Department of Finance in the Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business at Clemson University invites applications for a full time (nine months), non-tenure track position. The preferred candidate is expected to be hired as a Lecturer. The compensation package includes benefits. The position is term-limited and renewable annually based on performance and availability of funding.

Job duties include teaching four (4) in-person undergraduate courses each semester (fall and spring). Teaching responsibilities will include Principles of Real Estate and may also include other finance-related courses based on departmental needs and the candidate’s areas of expertise (e.g., Financial Management, Corporate Finance, Investment Analysis, Financial Markets and Institutions, Real Estate Finance, Real Estate Investment or Real Estate Valuation). Course teaching assignments typically include two to three preps and may vary across semesters. Faculty members are also expected to make service contributions to the department, the Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business, and Clemson University. The start date is August 15, 2026.

Clemson University is a R1 Carnegie designated, land-grant competitive admissions institution with total enrollment approaching 29,000 students. The Finance program currently has over 1,300 finance majors, 16 tenured/tenure-track faculty members, three clinical faculty members, and eight full-time lecturers. Clemson, South Carolina is a small college town nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, located on the I-85 corridor between Atlanta and Charlotte and is 30 miles outside of Greenville, SC. Greenville is consistently named as one of the nicest places to live in the country.

Qualifications

Applicants must have a master’s or terminal degree in finance or a related field (e.g., Master of Business Administration). Preference will be given to candidates with applicable industry experience or comparable teaching experience. All applicants should have potential for excellence in teaching, excellent communication skills, and a willingness to teach a variety of finance classes at the undergraduate level.
