The Purdue University School of Business invites applications for a Clinical Professor, assistant/associate level in real estate to contribute to the newly launched Dean V. White Real Estate Finance Program.

About Purdue Real Estate

The Dean V. White Real Estate Finance program aims to generate pioneering, practical research into the what, where, and why of real estate and to prepare students to be industry leaders in reshaping how we develop, finance, and use space. The program is building a faculty roster of scholars and industry practitioners to advance real estate knowledge and to prepare students for careers in real estate through cutting-edge methods and immersive, experiential learning.

About the Clinical Professor Position

The program has significant resources and is seeking people with an innovative, mission-driven, and collaborative mindset.

The Clinical Professor will:

  • Develop and manage an immersive industry projects course that provides students with direct hands-on experience working with industry on real-world real estate projects.
    • Tasks include creating instructional materials, fostering and managing industry relationships, classroom teaching, and supervising students with their projects.
  • Be able to teach in multiple areas of real estate at the undergraduate level, ranging from real estate fundamentals to upper-level real estate courses in law, development and/or capital markets.
  • Assist with events and programming as needed to advance the real estate program.

Qualified candidates must have:

  • A terminal degree in real estate, law, business, or a related discipline. Candidates without a terminal degree must have a master’s degree and 20+ years of impactful industry experience.
  • A background that lends itself to creating a credible, impactful, and relevant industry projects course.
  • The desire and ability to stay up-to-date with the latest real estate industry practices and relevant academic research.
  • Effective communication skills inside and outside of the classroom and the ability to build bridges between industry and academia.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Direct real estate industry experience.
  • Prior teaching, mentorship, or training experience that translates well to the classroom.
