ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR OF FINANCE AND REAL ESTATE

POSITION SUMMARY:

The University of Tulsa’s Collins College of Business invites candidates for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in finance and real estate – rank according to experience- starting August 2023.  Salary and teaching load are commensurate with education and experience and are competitive with AACSB accredited institutions. The title of the position is flexible according to the candidate’s qualifications.

Real Estate has been identified as an area of strategic importance for the Collins College of Business. The college has recently launched an undergraduate minor in real estate and plans to expand undergraduate and graduate curricular offerings in real estate in the next 1-3 years as well as launch a center for real estate.

Academic rank will be based on the applicant’s academic qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits include, life, health, disability insurance, and retirement. Duties:

The successful applicant will teach courses in the College’s undergraduate and graduate programs, maintain active and productive research in the expanding field of real estate, broadly defined, and engage in appropriate professional and service activities.

Qualifications:

Candidates who possess a Ph.D. degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or a related field are invited to apply. ABD’s close to completion will be considered for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, provided they will complete their degree prior to the position start date in August 2023.

The successful candidate will be expected to engage in high-quality, innovative, and, as appropriate, externally funded research. Research focus is broadly defined and should be in one or more of the following general areas: (1) real estate finance, investment, development, asset and portfolio management (an emphasis in commercial or corporate real estate is particularly desirable); (2) economic, financial and public policy applications in urban economics; (3) sustainability, environmental, social, governance (ESG), social infrastructure and housing affordability- as they apply to the built environment.

Preference will be given to candidates specializing in impactful applied research, have strong industry engagement, proven ability to link theory and practice in their area(s) of expertise. Preference will be given to candidates who have an established record of quality teaching and research, and experience in outreach in the professional real estate community and/or prior professional experience in real estate.

The Collins College of Business is accredited by AACSB International, which maintains the highest standards for business schools in the world, and has been named one of the top undergraduate business schools by Bloomberg Businessweek and Princeton Review. Home to approximately 650 undergraduate business students and 200 graduate business students, the College has four academic units and approximately 35 full-time business faculty positions.
