2019 National Conference

The AREUEA National Conference invites paper submissions on all facets of real estate related research including housing, urban economics, commercial real estate investment, finance, and the securitization of real estate assets and liabilities, and more. The goal of the meeting is to provide participation opportunities to a broad range of affiliated disciplines where AREUEA members can present their research in a rigorous and engaging scholarly environment.

The conference is held in Washington DC over a two day period typically at the end of the Memorial Day week. The sessions are informative and ample time is provided to allow for discussion among the presenters and session participants. Policy makers, academics, and real estate practitioners have all come to rely on the leading research and vigorous discussions that are a tradition of this conference.

For information about previous National conferences, please see the conference archive section.

WREN Mentorship Pairing Program

WREN is delighted to announce a new mentorship pairing program that will seek to match junior AREUEA members with more senior members. The goal of this program is to provide early-career AREUEA members with a resource for research and professional advice outside their own departments. Toward this end, we will seek to match junior members of the profession with more senior members.

We recognize that successful mentoring relationships can take many forms and that none serves all purposes. Mentors and mentees who register for the program will have a chance to identify the type(s) of relationship they are interested in establishing, both in terms of time commitment and issues addressed.

If you are interested in participating—either as a mentor, a mentee, or both—please fill out the registration form here by April 30. Our goal is to make the first round of matches ahead of the National Conference in DC so that pairs who attend the meeting will be able to meet in person there.

We will do our best to match everyone who applies to be a mentee with a suitable mentor, but we can make no guarantees. If prospective mentees are not matched in this registration round, we will we will do our best to match you with a mentor over the course of the year. Mentors and mentees who are matched this year will also have an opportunity to re-match next year to suit changing time constraints and mentoring needs and/or capabilities.

Thank you in advance for your participation!
-The Women in Real Estate Network (WREN) Committee
