2015 International Conference

Held for the first time in 1992, AREUEA's annual International Conference over the years has become the leading conference to address global developments in international topics that affect real estate and urban economics. AREUEA membership now include individuals and libraries from over 45 countries around the world.

General Conference Information

The American Real Estate and Urban Economics Association (AREUEA) is pleased to announce the 2015 annual international conference will be held in Washington DC on July 6-9, 2015. It will be a joint conference of the Global Chinese Real Estate Congress (GCREC), the Asian Real Estate Society (AsRES), and the International Real Estate Society (IRES). This is an unprecedented collaboration of many of the world’s top academic real estate associations.

With the Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD), the Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI), and the Ronald Reagan International Airport (DCA), travelling to and from D.C. is incredibly convenient. The conference will be held at the Fairmont Washington D.C. hotel, located at 2401 M Street NW, Washington, DC 20037.

Call for Papers

The 2015 American Real Estate and Urban Economics Association (AREUEA) International Conference will take place in Washington, D.C. July 6 – 9, 2015. The conference will be held in conjunction with the Global Chinese Real Estate Congress (GCREC), the Asian Real Estate Society (AsRES), and the International Real Estate Society (IRES). The conference will provide a forum for academics, practitioners, and policy makers to present research findings in the areas of real estate economics, real estate finance, urban economics, and other related areas.



Submission Guidelines

Well-developed abstracts or full papers must be submitted online following the instructions posted on the AREUEA website: www.areuea.org.

The venue for the conference is the Fairmont Washington D.C. hotel, located at 2401 M St NW, Washington, DC 20037 in close proximity to the restaurants and shops of Georgetown and centrally located to George Washington University, the Kennedy Center, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Korean War Veterans Memorial, and the Metrorail.

The sessions on day one are all in English. The sessions on day two are mostly in English. The sessions on day three are mainly in Chinese.



Location and Transportation

The Fairmont Washington, D.C., Georgetown, http://www.fairmont.com/washington, is located on the outer edge of Georgetown and just minutes to the White House, the House of the Temple, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial and the Lincoln Memorial and the Reflecting Pool. The metro is easily accessible by a 10-minute walk to the Foggy Bottom station.

The Washington, DC area is served by three airports: Washington Reagan National Airport, Dulles International Airport, and Baltimore Washington International Airport. All three airports have international flights coming in from China and Asia. The venue is a 15-minute taxi ride from Washington Reagan National Airport (DCA), a 30-minute taxi ride from Dulles International Airport (IAD), and a 60-minute taxi ride from Baltimore Washington International Airport (BWI).
