Marquette University, College of Business Administration Bell Chair in Real Estate

The Finance Department in the College of Business Administration at Marquette University invites applications for the Robert Bernard Bell, Sr. Endowed Chair in Real Estate starting in the fall of 2018, with the rank of Associate or Full Professor. The Real Estate Undergraduate Program at Marquette, now in its 16th year, consistently ranks in the top 10 nationally according to U.S. News & World Report. The program boasts a strong Center for Real Estate led by a full-time Director and supported by an active advisory board, a dedicated alumni and donor base, great relationships with the professional industry, and a collegial atmosphere for high-quality research alongside an accomplished group of peers.

The Bell Chair in Real Estate will receive support from, and work closely with, the Center for Real Estate, led by a Director and support staff. Together with the Director, the Bell Chair will increase the Center’s and program’s presence and interaction with the Milwaukee, Chicago, and commercial real estate communities nationwide through relevant research, active participation in professional organizations and outreach.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. in Real Estate, Finance, or Economics, an established record of scholarly research in Real Estate, experience of teaching in an applied learning environment at undergraduate and masters levels, a demonstrated commitment to service and active engagement within the professional real estate industry, and a record of service to the university and the academic profession.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: An excellent record of teaching undergraduate courses in real estate with applied learning and experiential components, a national and international reputation for top-level scholarly research in Real Estate with an active pipeline, propensity for alumni outreach and fundraising, and a proven track record of working with the real estate industry and industry professional organizations. APPOINTMENT TERMS: This is a full-time, 12-month, tenure-track position with an anticipated start date of August 23, 2018. Salary will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
