Traditionally, the AREUEA Mid-Year Conference has been known as the “policy meeting” however, starting with the 2009 conference the AREUEA Board of Directors expanded the scope of the conference to go beyond housing and policy topics to include urban economics, commercial real estate investment, finance and the securitization of real estate assets and liabilities. The goal of the expansion is to provide more participation opportunities beyond the Annual Conference in which AREUEA members can present their research in a rigorous and engaging scholarly environment.
The conference is held in Washington DC over a two day period typically the first week of June. The sessions are informative and ample time is provided to allow for intense discussion among the presenters and session participants. Policy makers, academics, and real estate practitioners from all over the country have come to rely on the leading research and vigorous discussions that are a Mid-Year tradition.
