Ph.D. dissertations completed during the 2007 - 2008 academic year are eligible for consideration. Dissertations must have been successfully defended between January 1, 2007 to June 30, 2008. Eligible topic areas include all areas within the range of interest of Association members as exemplified by papers published in the Association journal, Real Estate Economics. The Homer Hoyt Institute distributes a $2,000 award pool to the writers of award-winning dissertations.

1. A letter verifying the date of the successful dissertation defense must accompany the submission.
2. Candidates may submit the best essay or best chapter from your dissertation depending on the dissertation style. Working papers based on dissertation may also be submitted. (mentor must write letter to verify the paper has been written by the Ph.D. student and is based on the completed dissertation) DO NOT send the entire dissertation.
3. Please send one complete package of the materials requested to each of the committee members listed below.

The George Bloom Award is presented during the presidential luncheon at the annual meeting in January. The recipient, selected by the executive nominating committee, is presented with a plaque in recognition of their distinguished service to the Association during his or her career.
